Meagan and Evans | Wedding at the Cathedral of the Incarnation with a Reception in the Parthanon at Centennial Park
Meagan and Evans were married at the Cathedral of the Incarnation and they held their reception at the Parthanon in Centennial Park. This wedding was shot in tandem with the talented Twila Allen of Twila’s Photography and with floral arrangements by Belles Fleurs. We met the girls at the Loew’s Vanderbilt where they started early with hair, make-up and mimosas!
I left Twila with the girls and met up with the groom and friends while they had a different kind of morning with beer and wings in the sunshine!
The bride and groom decided to see each other early in the day so they could get photos out of the way so they set up a meeting under the columns at the Parthanon where the reception would be held later that evening.
The wedding party joined the bride and groom at the park for a few photos before being picked up by a trolly to be carted downtown for more photos in another location.
I loved these shots that Twila grabbed by these giant doors at the downtown courthouse (above) and the fountains (below).
Then we all hopped back in the trolly and made our way back to the Cathedral of the Incarnation to take all of the family formal photos before the ceremony. This way they could head straight to the party after the ceremony.
They entered the back of the Parthanon to make their way in to see the set-up and the cake which was situated just below Athena. I love that golden Athena statue! My wife tells me that her spear is made out of a flag-pole, just FYI. When they were ready they went through the giant doors down the front steps to have their first dance. There was a live band, string lighting and the temperature was amazing. It was August 11th and while it could have been unbearably hot it turned out to be a really gorgeous night in the park.
